It would be awesome for my son if we won this! Why you ask Im not the worlds best baker and the poor kid doesnt get many homemade baked goods. When I do bake him something things are usual blah or slightly undone or overdone. He is the best kid in the world and deserve some wonderful baked goods!!! Kim B. - I always provide a safe snack at all my daughters pre-school parties. I want her to be able to eat at least one thing the same as her friends. On days that there is an unexpected treat and she must eat something from her safe snack box, my daughter is very sad.

I was very sensitive to a friend of mine whose son was allergic to peanuts. I was always careful and asking questions when we got together and I would hear her frustration about those who were not careful. When my own daughter experienced a reaction I knew immediately what was going on and called an ambulance. I feel by taking the time and going the extra mile for her may have saved my daughter's life!!!

My 4 yr old son would love these Valentine's Day cookies. He's in love with a girl named Ella...THIS week--lol! It would be so amazing to give my son a treat that I don't have to worry, ask questions, or stress about! We were playing duck duck goose in our front yard yesterday and I couldn't believe my eyes--a peanut in it's shell that someone carelessly threw in our yard. Just two weeks ago, I friended someone that I don't know on facebook. A mutual friend asked me to friend her b/c her daughter was recently diagnosed with food allergies. I friended her and have been passing along all the things I have learned, tips, tricks, etc..

On Christmas day, we discovered my 4 year old daughter's peanut allergy when she got sick after eating a cookie. 2 weeks later we decided to see how my 1 year old son handled peanut butter and ended up in the ER. My daughter is allergic to peanuts and shellfish. She LOVES treats and has learned to ask if things are safe for her. She would be so excited to have a store bought treat that is safe! I just paid more than 3x what some nut free valentines day candies cost for the shipping so that she could have something "fun" to top her homeade cupcakes with :( These cookies would be a great addition to the candies!
These cookies are so perfect! I would donate the entire box to my son's class so he would not feel left out at their Valentine's Day party. I always go the extra mile for him since he is allergic to milk, peanuts eggs and soy...these products are in almost everything :( i try to make him feel special and make him the best treats that I can between a full time job and being a mom. I often stay up late at night baking just so he has cookies or brownies that look the same as his class mates. I would certainly welcome a break from the very rushed life I live to have a moment off.

I would love to win this. How wonderful! Your question is sort of thought-provoking. I do what I do to protect my son because I love him. But, I think the ways I show extra love are when I volunteer to coordinate snacks or be the lead on the school party because that way I know he won't be left out and he will get safe treats that he ENJOYS.

We just found out that my son is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts right before Halloween. I am thankful for knowing rather than not knowing so we can be prepared. Your blog has been a wonderful resource for me. I have been trying nut-free treats from various places to see what we enjoy and would love to try Sweet Alexis's heart cookies. Wow, yum! My oldest daughter who is PA/TN/shellfish allergic would love these. I buy her chocolates from Vermont Nut Free every year for Valentine's day, she loves that she gets the fancy chocolates like most everyone else. :)

This would be great since I'm not such a great baker! My last couple of projects have ended up burnt or not quite right. I usually end up buying mini-cupcakes baked in a nut-free facility from Jewel or Wal-mart for my son's class! This would be a nice new treat!

My girls would love these cookies. My 4 yr old PN/TN allergic loves hearts and her favorite color is pink! I am not much of a baker though I try for her and her sister (we don't yet know if she has allergies, though we suspect). In response to Sharon G's post - I have found peanut shells in our yard also mostly in the spring time, but I believe the culprit is usually the squirrels and blue jays in our area. Hard to stay "nut-free" when mother nature literally tosses nuts in our direction.

My 13 month old son is allergic to so many things...nuts included. I worry about his future...as my other two kids age 4 and 2 are allergy free. Like Halloween & Easter (other holiday's that place a lot of emphasis on candy), Valentine's Day is not a favorite in our household because it can be hard to find safe treats for my youngest son (allergic to eggs and peanuts.) My daughter (she's 3 1/2) is just beginning to understand her peanut allergy. While I want her to be cautious around food, she gets really fearful of accepting snacks outside of home (even if I tell her that it's safe). It's so hard to find the right balance between educating her and not scaring her. These cookies are so cute, and would put a big smile on her face.

I was looking for nut free chocolates since my little guy would love to have a store bought "fancy" chocolate. As a peanut free household, I have tried really hard to make my treats look as close to those being offered at parties my son goes too. So many schools want "store bought" treats. Would love to share Sweet Alexis cookie basket with my son's class. The warm fuzzies he'd feel would make his day as well as mine.
